MySlipcase insurance networking platform launched in London

A new online business networking platform for insurance and reinsurance professionals and companies has been officially launched in the City of London.
MySlipcase allows insurance professionals and businesses from around the world to network, post information and share live up-to-date industry knowledge and events in a variety of formats.
The site has been set up by former Willis broker, Alex Hearn, and directors include Alex Northcott, founder of Gorkana, the successful media database and portal for journalists and public relations professionals.
MySlipcase was created before Christmas and it aims to attract 1200 members by November.
“The insurance and reinsurance industry is increasingly recognising the importance of business networking and social platforms as a powerful way to communicate and share information,” said Hearn. “However, until now, there has not been an effective networking site dedicated to our market, to enhance relevant relationships and enable the participation and creation of effective organisational groups and events.
“MySlipcase.co.uk has been designed to satisfy this niche on a simple platform, with no charge to individual members. Following the soft launch, the feedback we have had from insurance professionals has been extremely encouraging and I am confident MySlipcase will become an essential resource for our market.”
Industry professionals have been invited to join MySlipcase during its early test stage. To date, there are members from 22 countries and 106 organisations are represented. Some 42% of members are brokers, 38% are underwriters and 10% are consultants, loss adjusters, lawyers and press. The average age of members is 38, and one in 20 members are C-suite executives.
Hearn explained that companies and insurance groups and organisations are able to set up their own pages on MySlipcase for individual business units, allowing them to develop strong relationships with clearly defined target audiences.
